In recent years he’s taken up activism, in particular to support long-term survivors of HIV/AIDS. He volunteers nearly every day with groups trying to draw attention to their cause. Last summer, he started a Facebook group for long-term survivors that now has more than 1,400 members. But he longs to feel more useful — for a life beyond AIDS.
