Mar 24, 2017 · Unfortunately, I don’t think ST has really ever fully exploited this capability, rarely adding support for new cameras. If I were you, I’d forget about official support from Samsung/SmartThings and focus on getting a camera that meets your family’s needs. The user community has done a much better job of supporting cameras than ST itself.

I have been using the Netatmo “Welcome” camera. I wish there was some direct SmartThings support for it. Instead, I’ve been leveraging IFTTT as the middleman. What I like most about it, is the facial recognition features. It allows me to create custom events based on individual people being seen (or, based on “unknown face” being seen.)

The camera functions work better than I expected and my expectation was high. Night vision is A1 - daytime is as well. The not so good: The Guide is really lacking with info about various functions and settings of the camera. Not intuitive. I needed to work the FAQ's, glean info from reviews and call support.

I pretty much upgraded to v2 to add camera support, and it's really basic. Unfortunately, Smart Alarm doesn't pick up on the camera either. So until that gets updated, my camera just kinda sits there in regards to SmartThings. I can still configure it to do stuff in the SmartCam app, which is what I'll have to resort to until integration.
