The official GWT Super Dev Mode linker (the default linker in GWT 2.7.0+) does not support including modules which load javascript files. SmartGWT restores support for script tags by modifying some of the generated files with a post link step.

SmartGWT is a thin wrapper using JSNI around the SmartClient library. This is a nice library, but you need to adopt it all or none. I believe this misses the point of GWT as you are just wrapping Javascript, so if Google adds support for another browser, you will not be able to support it SmartClient does.

Jan 23, 2013 · Interesting. I haven't actually tried SmartGWT 3.0 yet (the Showcase application is a SmartGWT 2.5 application). We are likely going to move one of our other projects that uses GWT Highcharts to SmartGWT 3.0, so we'll see if we run into similar issues there. Did you happen to try this with SmartGWT 2.5 or earlier?
