Jan 19, 2010 · As far as I know, only Vista and Windows 7 support dual monitors and SLI at the same time. Since you have Windows XP, you are out of luck. I have Windows 7 and GTX-295 and I have no problems using dual monitors and SLI at the same time. When I reboot into my Windows XP partition, I have to disable SLI in order to use the second monitor.

I have tried similar methods as you have, using nvidia-xconfig to enable SLI and mucking about with xorg.conf. The GUI definitely does not want you to be able to use both monitors and SLI- it doesn't even have an option to control SLI. My best best so far has been this: 1.

May 17, 2005 · I think you are confused about SLI. SLI = 2 video cards with a total of 4 DVI, VGA or a combination of both. If you have an SLI setup and disable the SLI feature, you can have 4 monitors hooked up. If you want only 2 monitors hooked up, an SLI setup is not needed. All you need is 1 videocard with dual heads.
