Suitable partitioning tools include GPT fdisk (a.k.a gdisk) and GNU parted, both of which are provided by recent versions of Slackware. The USB disk you are going to use as install media will need to be partitioned with a GPT scheme. It will need to have a UEFI System Partition as a bare minimum.

Using GPT allows you to install Slackware onto very large disk drives (the theoretical maximum addressable disk size is 2 ZiB). Feb 08, 2013 · Boot the x86_64 Slackware install disc under the legacy boot mode and with Secure Boot turned off (probably you'll want to leave it off anyway). The installer handles GPT fine, so make your partitions using cgdisk. If you made a swap partition, run mkswap on it before running setup, and then proceed to install as usual. Skip the LILO installation.
