The BT Yahoo mail server does require authentication, but this is not SSL, and the mail server doesn't support SSL. You are probably ticking the wrong box. In Outlook Express, the correct box is labelled "My server requires authentication". I would assume there's something similar in Live Mail.

Jun 07, 2011 · the reason of the problem is that your SSL is enabled on 25th port. to fix this problem , please open your windows live mail program, go to tools>accounts, select your account and press properties . go to ADVANCED tab and UNCHECK the ssl option for outgoing port (25) after doing this press ok and try to send. you will be able to send. if you still have problems please let me know.
