Oct 22, 2003 · A few points. While IDEAS is a great system, SDRC has been acquired by EDS and you can expect the Unigraphics and SDRC capabilities to merge in their new "NX" system. So, check out NX, not IDEAS. EDS also sells Solid Edge and is likely to spin out its CAD offerings (UG, Ideas, Solid Edge) in a partial public offering.

Siemens won't issue a license for anything prior to NX-Ideas 5 (Ideas 13 in the older number format). So if your license details have to be changed it's impossible to get that done. Dec 01, 2011 · Another option is to look at Tetra4D. Tetra4D is a Acrobat plug-in that enables the import of 3D CAD models. Once opened, it can then export to neutral 3D files such as STEP, Parasolid and others. Although the file formats supported are not listed on the website, I beleive it does support Ideas but you should ask them.
