May 14, 2012 · We have purchased an Epson Perfection V700 Photo scanner & are attempting to install it on a computer running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. Apparently, Epson's software is not compatible with this system & will not install. I have attempted to install a driver & was unsuccessful. If anyone knows of a work around, I would appreciate it.

As far as free solutions go, you are correct that RemoteFX isn't free since the cost of research, development, and support is all combined into the cost of owning a Windows Server platform, however it appears that since I already own a Windows Server 2008 R2 platform for this use, it is free in the sense that it doesn't cost anything additional.
