Mar 27, 2019 · Answer: We recommend using nonlinear link/support elements to model friction behavior between two surfaces. The friction isolator is best for SAP2000 models, and the Isolator 2 is best for ETABS models. Use engineering judgement when deciding upon linear and nonlinear stiffness properties. Formulation What are the Link Directional Properties?

Mar 31, 2014 · A link object connects two joints, i and j, separated by length L, such that specialized structural behavior may be modeled. Linear, nonlinear , and frequency-dependent properties may be assigned to each of the six deformational degrees-of-freedom (DOF) which are internal to a link, including axial, shear, torsion, and pure bending.

I have a problem, I've modeled a rubber isolator in etabs 2013 but when I tried to assign the link propertie to joint element, cannot. I tried it, in the same way with Etabs v9 (menu Assign > Joint/Point > Link properties), but didn't work. I hope you can help. Thanks.
