Sep 03, 2019 · A saniflo slimline system was fitted last year to our new ensuite.It served the shower , toilet & washbasin. We get smells from the macerator , the air vent is just a pipe with a domed top but no other valve. We think that this is the source of the smell , should this black rubber pipe on top of the unit have some kind of ball valve?

Jan 07, 2014 · There may also be a "one way" air valve somewhere which can also cause a smell when it starts to fail (it's meant to let air in, but not back out of the pipework, at least in normal toilets and sewerage systems, I don't know if saniflo's have one or not).
