Apr 24, 2018 · I have installed samba 3.6 from the AIX7.2 expansion DVD. We have tried all of the documented config setting to activate SMB2 with no success. I have tried to install samba 4.6 but the only one I could find was for AIX6.1 and it would not load on AIX higher that 6.1. Any tips on configuring 3.6 (min protocol/max protocol appear to have no impact)

Did you check if firewall does not block necessary ports for Samba? (port 137-139 and 445). Also share name (or domain name) should be given at AIX side, please check that one as well-
