The problem seemed to be related with forgetting the require. Now this seems to be working. edit: one more thing, though. I'd like to have each test show up with its name in the left panel, instead of just having a green "Test results:".

"RSpec support is disabled because 'rspec-rails' gem or RSpec Rails plugin are missing. Install and activate gem at first". ... Looks like RubyMine doesn't play well with the newer versions of Ruby Gems. The fact that it can't see the Rails gem, would be the same issue we're having here. There are quite a few tickets regarding this issue.

Jun 19, 2013 · As for rspec: it looks like RM believes that your project is a rails one and it wants to have rspec-rails to run rspec tests. It looks like a reasonalbe requirement for me but I'm opened for discussion and ready to change this as soon as I will be sure that this is a redundant requirement. Jan 18, 2018 · Since this is one of the most recent of many similar support requests, I'll chime in here. RubyMine 2018.3 does still not find the "RSpec runner script" even though I've definitely have installed the gem (as system gem). There's nothing even written to the log. :/ It seems that RubyMine is just looking in the wrong place(s).
