Jan 24, 2018 · Try testing the CD-ROM in Safe Mode. If the CD-ROM works in Safe Mode but not in normal Windows, a running program is causing the issue, or the drivers are corrupt. Open Device Manager, highlight and remove the CD-ROM by pressing the delete key. After deleting the CD-ROM, reboot the computer. Windows should then detect the CD-ROM and reinstall it.

Jun 02, 2016 · "DVD/CD-Rom drives" not showing up in Device Manager. Drive is receiving power so it appears not to be a connection issue. First noticed after last upgrade to Windows 10 (Nov/Dec 2015). Any suggestions as to how to resolve? This thread is locked.

Also the DVD ROM does not display in MY COMPUTER. Even it is not visible in the Device Manager. Following are the additional points: 1) I am able to view the DVD ROM in the BIOS when I run my laptop with F2 key. 2) I have looked into the registry but vould not find any UpperFilter/Lower FIlter registry keys.
