The downside to that approach is that Rockbox needs to look for a .cue file every time an audio file is played.

Jun 05, 2006 · I have a lot of DJ mixes that have been recorded via radio etc (let alone some CD rips that have been created as one long file with a cue sheet [my own CD collection is individual flac files]), and so CUE sheet support in Rockbox, even at it's most basic, would be really great for me.

Aug 06, 2007 · The whole point of CUE sheet for me is to play continuously gaplessly (or with the proper gaps as on the original CD). Without the CUE support, I'd not be able to tell what track is currently playing unless I memorized the tracks' names and sequential order. «

Windows users can use ExactAudioCopy combined with Lame for ripping and encoding (Actions -> Copy image & Create CUE sheet -> Compressed) and cut the mp3 with MP3DirectCut or MusiCutter afterwards. The drawback of this simple method is that there will be problems if you don't play the files in the original order.
