How much memory is supported in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6 on 32 bit(x86) platform ? Why Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 support 64 GB of memory on 32 bit platform but Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6 not ? Feb 19, 2009 · I assume you mean OEL/RHEL5 32 bits? And with High memory support I suppose you mean 4GB/4GB kernel split also known as "hugemem" kernel, instead of the default 3GB/1GB kernel split (3GB for user processes)? With RHEL5, there is no hugemem kernel. The is only the default kernel, and the PAE kernel, which makes 64GB addressable.
