Jul 27, 2011 · RHEL6 xfs support and RPM's. Hi, I am new to this thread, but I have just installed RHEL6 and am trying to create an xfs file system. I tried to do mkfs.ext4 -b8192 /dev/sdc1 but it did not work when i do a dmesg i get the following EXT4-fs (sdc1): bad block size 8192

Jul 21, 2010 · I can install the xfs kernel RPM from CentOS (kernel-module-xfs-2.6.9-34.EL-0.1.1), but that prints a big warning message on install about it being test status. I don't really want to use that... If anyone has setup XFS on RHEL4, how did you do it? Thanks!

Sep 16, 2008 · I have a system based on RHEL4. I've been using the amanda-backup_server-2.6.0p1-1.rhel4 RPM. There were 2 filesystems before, / and /boot, both ext3. Worked fine using dump. I just split /home (containing a lot of files, 22GB worth) to a separate partition using xfs. This build of amanda apparently doesn't grok xfs, since it didn't back up /home and I saw this in the log: …
