    If the above steps do not help to display the tape drive, you may want to try and stop the engine and remove the configxx.dat and configxx.bak file from the Macintosh Hard Disk > Library Folder > Application Support folder > Retrospect folder after stopping the Retrospect engine. When you start the engine again a new set of config files will be created.

    Jul 23, 2010 · Just in case anyone else is experiencing this problem, I managed to get the tape drive up and running again. The situation: Retrospect was running fine, including tape support (a somewhat oldish LTo-2 in this case). For testing purposes, I removed Retrospect and installed DPM 2010. A little later, I removed DPM and reinstalled Retrospect.
