Feb 21, 2010 · If you do it yourself using a regular mig, drill out all the spot welds, and drill out the spot areas on the new support and do a plug weld to attach it to the car. Mar 09, 2017 · First thing is to find the spot welds you will need to remove, so you can remove the radiator support. Next is to center punch for the small drill bit, making a pilot close to center of the spot welds. Both sides are pretty much in the same spots, just repeat other side. Next you use your spot remover tool, something like this one, does great, pick it up at harbor freight.

Jul 01, 2011 · there is nothing wrong with frame, a heavy piece of barstock dropped on support and bent it, also damaged radiator and ac condenser. i ordered new parts and know that spot welds where not bolted will have to be drilled out, i was just hoping that someone could recommend a starting drill size and type of bolts and nuts to reassemble where spot welds were as it cant be spot …4.2/5(8)

Apr 30, 2013 · Took off grill, header panel, top and bottom plastic air channelling panels, wipers and wiper plastic rain cover (to get at the fenders). Then drilled out 30-40 spot welds that held it to the inner fenders,. Cut the L and R sheetmetal off the rad support with a sawzall and the 2 rusted on/(broke the bolts)/ on the rad support frame.
