Sep 15, 2011 · I would like to leave SSH (Remote Tech Support Mode) enabled on all of my ESXi hosts, but don't want to see that "warning" flag. When did SSH of all things become a security concern? Of all the protocols utilized by VMWare, SSH is one of the more secure, yet it props up a warning flag when you enable it in ESXi.

Sep 13, 2010 · Once enabled you will notice that the host within vCenter has a warning being shown. When selecting that host, and looking under the summary, vCenter alerts you to the fact that Remote Tech Support Mode (SSH) has been enabled.

If you want to enable remote TSM, select Enable Remote Tech Support (SSH) and press Enter. This allows you to login to the ESXi host via SSH. Optionally you can configure a timeout that specifies the availability of TSM. After the timeout expires, TSM will be disabled again.
