Apr 08, 2012 · I proved that Windows-Live-Messenger (latest version as of March 2012) allows the Request-Remote-Assistance to work correctly only when both machines are *on the same physical network* (i.e. connected to the same router, same subnet etc.). It all works properly and works well when everthing is local.
