I'm a student using Turbo Tax to file. Parents are not claiming me as a dependent and made too much to receive the credit in previous years, so they have never claimed it. It says for some reason I can deduct $4,000 in qualified tuition and fees but can't claim the American Opportunity or Lifetime Learning Credit.
