Through thirty years of support I've received plenty of calls that resulted in miraculous fixes. I considered keeping a log of these events but never did so. So many times I've asked the user to reboot the PC only to get a response of "But I did that 10 times before calling you" and I'd yes but I'm on the phone now.

I do IT support for 5 offices accross North America, most is onsite at our largest branch, but we do have users at these offices that have no on-site tech support. I work 8-4 on weekdays, and outside of these hours, we have an 'emergency' line, for, you know, emergencies outside of business hours.

Calls From Hell. They're bound to terrorize all tech support personnel sooner or later -- the call from hell. These are calls from people without a clue in their heads. They call tech support lines and refuse to get off until the tech support staff members on the other end have lost all remnants of their sanity.
