Hi i am having a big problem, i have a vps with centos installed on it. But i have a script which needs php zip library i checked on php.net it says "In order to use these functions you must compile PHP with zip support by using the --enable-zip configure option."

Feb 24, 2016 · UPDATE: I have read that I need to recompile php with –zip extension enabled. I do not know how to do it. And I am worried that I might lose my config in php.ini. I will lose it right ? so I need to back up ? Would it affect any other configuration ? UPDATE 2: zip looks like enabled in info.php

In order to use these functions you must compile PHP with zip support by using the --enable-zip configure option. As of PHP 5.6.0 a --with-libzip=DIR configure option has been added to use a system libzip installation. libzip version 0.11 is required, with 0.11.2 or later recommended.

I compile my own PHP, partly to learn more about how PHP is put together, and partly because I'm always finding I need modules that aren't available by default, and this way I have control over that. My problem is that I can't get JPEG support in PHP. Using CentOS 5.6. Here are my configuration options when compiling PHP 5.3.8:

Dec 30, 2008 · CentOS uses the RPM package management sytem, so compiling programs from source is rarely necessary. I am running PHP5.2.6 from the CentOS testing repo, if I run phpinfo() it tells me that Zip support is enabled.
