Apr 07, 2009 · Every model of camera produces a different RAW format - note that’s model, not make. The NEF from a Nikon d40 is not the same as the NEF from a Nikon d60. So, it depends on what camera you are using. Further, as RAW support is a function of the OS and not iPhoto, it also depends on the version of the OS you are running too.

Jun 09, 2017 · It is of course possible that the actual raw file has been damaged, by the original memory card, the card reader or other events. If you are in a curious mood, you get the free DNG Converter from Adobe, convert one of the non-working raw files to DNG and see if iPhoto will open the DNG (that's another one of those incantations).

Mar 08, 2009 · Hey all, I've taken some monochrome shoots with my 40d in RAW but when I import my pictures to iPhoto 09 they're all in color. Finder still shows the thumbnails in monochrome but a preview of the image is rendered in color. How can I display these images in the original Canon monochrome settings?
