The other odd thing I've noticed is that, despite running Windows 7 Pro (x64), when Quartus starts up and asks me if I want to install device files, and I say 'Yes', it then says 'Quartus II software cannot launch the Device Installer for Windows 8 and newer operating systems'.

Mar 06, 2018 · UPDATE: The new Intel® Quartus® Prime Lite 18.1 installs without any problems under Ubuntu 18.04 (LTS).Hopefully this article is now superfluous (unless you need to install older version of Quartus onto older versions of Ubuntu). Mar 24, 2015 · That's weird. As far as I know all Cyclone series are support in both the web edition (free) and subscription edition. I just took a look at Altera's website, but the Cyclone (I) and Cyclone II aren't listed anymore in the supported families for Quartus II.
