We are using QTP 10 for automating silverlight 3.0 version.Client has upgraded the silverlight version to 4.0.The browser gets closed while launching silverlight application with QTP 10. Please let me know if QTP 11 supports silverlight 4.0.

Mar 31, 2014 · I am using QTP 11.0 and working over Silverlight 4.0. It is not supporting completely on Silverlight 4.0. To get the support I will have to download some patches for it but while logging in to HP website, It is asking for the contract number.

May 13, 2010 · Even with this in mind I still have reservations as to the suitability of the tool long term. By admission of HP support site, the patches provided are compatible with Silverlight 2, and ‘may’ be compatible with Silverlight 3; which throws instant concern as Silverlight 4 is available with talk of a Silverlight 5 release early next year.

Good news for QTP Silverlight testers – HP just released a new patch QTPNET_00120 which adds support for Microsoft Silverlight 5. Installing this patch will updated QTP's .NET Add-in, providing support for Silverlight 2,3,4 and 5.

May 13, 2011 · QTP 11.0 provides out of the box support for Silverlight.According to QTP 11.0 Product Availability Matrix, QTP 11.0 at present supports Silverlight 2 and Silverlight 3. I am using QTP 11.0 on Windows 7 and IE 8 with WPF & Silverlight Add-ins checked.

Cause of issue: 1) QTP is not installing all .Net components while installing with the default options using the MS GO script. 2) Silverlight version installed on the system (4.0) is not supported by QTP.
