Jan 26, 2019 · PVST: A separate STP instance for each VLAN which improves flexibility and performance. PVST requires trunk ports to use ISL encapsulation. Since ISL encapsulation is a Cisco property so PVST protocol just works in Cisco devices. PVST and CST are not compatible.
