Jun 19, 2013 · Hey everyone, long time no talk eh? anyway, like you guys care about me. I just recently picked up Ghost in the Shell for the PS1 and I found out that there was a widescreen option for the game, to me this is actually great since I have tried it out on my PS3 and it looked GREAT!

Sep 04, 2009 · Doing a quick google on "PS1 widescreen games list" and its variants brings up very few results, with a few people listing things out, alongside other undetailed features like dolby surround, but no solid wiki-esque list. It seems to trigger automatically, though, unlike PS2 games, so I'm not sure what to think about this.

The rest of the Widescreen games are something else. They're probably 16:10 as that was the PC wide ratio at the time of the PS2's conception. Either way, all the TV's i've used have two wide settings and PS2 games display properly on the default "Widescreen" rather than "16:9" display.

Sep 05, 2009 · This is the same way DVD's and Wii games still do widescreen today. The image is a "squished" 4:3 image that looks correct when you TV stretches it to 16:9. Saturn and N64 did the exact same thing for several games.. it is reasonable to imagine some PSX games did it too.

Apr 17, 2007 · Hello guys. Recently I've been spending a lot of time looking for PSOne and Saturn games that support 16:9 displays on widescreen TVs. Basically, to set up a game to support widescreen, you have to check if the game supports widescreen in the options menu.

May 22, 2019 · The patches are game specific, and not all PS1 games have WS patches. Some are Codes, which you can use cwcheats, or manually patching the iso/image with a patch file. Once patched, you would run the game at `Full` or `Custom` screen mode to make it 16:9.
