Oct 03, 2017 · After upgrading to Windows 10 from 8.1 on my Surface Pro 3 the Prolific RS232-USB driver is not functional as it was under Windows 8.1. The device manager reports for this device: "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) Object Name already exists."

I was working on this problem for one of our Fort Myers Business Tech Support Clients, but I’ve had this problem a couple times and the solution seems to be slightly different each time. The problem presents itself as a Device in Device Manager showing “”The Device Cannot Start (Code 10)” after you’ve installed the Prolific PL-2303 Drivers from the Prolific website.
