Linux drivers are not provided on the printer installation discs packaged with new printers. It is likely that your Linux system already has HP's Linux Imaging and Printing drivers (HPLIP) installed. Most major Linux releases include the HPLIP drivers with the distribution installation.

Jun 12, 2013 · I can't say who provides the "best" support, but as noted by others above, Brother seems to be very good at providing support for Linux. I've had half a dozen or so different Brother laser printers over the years and each of them have worked great under Linux.
