Sep 21, 2012 · The converter has to have a turbine support bushing in order to properly support the input shaft since your stator support does not have a bushing in the front. If the converter does not have a bushing then this could be the source of some problems. You will be able to move the stator around a bit when checking out the converter.

Mar 08, 2008 · To do that you must know that the converter you are getting has a turbine support bushing installed in it for that to work. If not then you must install a bushing in the front of the stator tube which would then be best to change the stator tube as suggested in the above post. Hutch

Feb 21, 2009 · One more thing, the bushing as others have stated is not needed with a glide spline input shaft, it is also not needed on a turbo splined setup if the converter has been modified for an internal bushing. In both cases above it is better to not use the bushing in the stator support tube to allow fluid to pass unrestricted.
