OS: Linux Mint 19 Tara (also tested on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS) Kernel: 4.15.0-20-generic. I have a USB-Serial adapter with the PL2303X chip to connect hardware to a Linux host. The device appears connected via lsusb, however I cannot send and receive data.

Aug 23, 2005 · I am trying to use the USB to Serial converter PL2303 HX (not the old PL2303X or H, it is a new part called HX), and it is not working. Looking on the NET I discover that kernel version 2.6.8 will natively suport the PL2303 HX, and I also find a Red Hat only driver in the Prolific WEB site.

Hi, I installed ubuntu to use a tool not included in windows, and linux is much better the last time I installed linux. I'm trying to work with a PL-2303X serial adaptar too, and came to this thread.
