Apr 04, 2019 · So it sounds like you are saying that in PassThru mode, as long as the host (Mac mini in my case) detects the drive, the level of firmware in the Pegasus 1 R6 or what disk drives are in your compatibility list should not matter. It should only matter if I want to use the unit as a traditional RAID unit using the RAID hardware in the Pegasus.

The evaluation or the problem. Plugging a Pegasus into the Thunderbolt port and running apple updates (both apple and bootcamp side) gives us tons of updates (Mostly 2 EFI updates and the Thunderbolt drivers). I booted up into bootcamp only to find out that device manager shows there’s a RAID controller made by Promise without the drivers.

Apr 05, 2018 · Hi Dieter, Pegasus2 R6 unit can support upto 4TB drives and the higher capacity drives are non tested by promise, so the incomaptible drives may work or it may not detect and there are more possibilities for data corruption and it is always recomended to use only the tested drives for optimal performance.
