May 25, 2009 · Full Quad Core support would require a full rework of pcsx2, doesn't matter how much you nag and QQ, the developers arn't gonna do it. End of discussion. NOTE: You can use all 4 cores, using gsdx in software mode.

Oct 10, 2006 · Hey guys, i was just wondering in the future would PCSX2 support Quad core CPU's which may improve fps? Or is it better just sticking with a dual core for now. If PCSX2 could support quad core any ideas on how long it would take to implement? Not complaining or anything, just wondering.. Thanks

Mar 28, 2014 · So don't ask when quad-core support will be available, since it won't be anytime soon! However, PCSX2 will run fine on your quad-core processor. It just won't benefit from the extra core. Why is my CPU load less than 100%? As said above,PCSX2 only uses 2 cores,so if you have more the CPU usage will be way less 100%.

Dual core support allows PCSX2 to use up to 2 CPU cores speeding up the emulator significantly. Proper SPU2 emulation helps reproduce PS2 audio or even enhanced audio on the PC which is not a trivial task considering the lack of documentation and the fact that it has to synchronize with many other emulated processors.
