Apr 30, 2012 · Parallels Desktop supports USB routing to the Virtual Machines, what I'm asking is the same but for Firewire, specifically for external drives, since I use external Firewire drives (Firewire 800) and I have to switch to USB (if they support USB also) to use inside the VM, if PDM supports Firewire than it would work much more smoothly.

Aug 29, 2013 · I am a Parallels 7 User and I couldn't upgrade to version 8 or 9 or whatever without Firewire support. :-(Firewire is the ONLY feature I've ever wanted to have, I do a lot of digital editing and I want to be able to capture from a Firewire device like a Canon XH-A1.

Jan 13, 2012 · I invested in Parallels to run windows xp to run Nikonscan software which is not being updated for mac os. Then I discovered Parallels does not support firewire. Since pc's can run firewire, Parallels must run firewire to be functional in my video and photography world. when will this be added?

Oct 13, 2016 · Why is Windows 10 no longer supporting Apples Thunderbolt to Firewire Adapter as a IEEE1394 device ... So I contacted support again and after 4 hours they told me Windows is no longer going to support the Firewire adapter because it is obsolete. Apple still sells the Thunderbolt Firewire adapter and is supported on Mac, so it is not obsolete.
