Aug 18, 2015 · On my linux machine I have the following par2 release: par2cmdline-0.4-tbb-20150503.tar.gz It does support directory structure and rename/move files, just like multipar does it in windows, I just have to use the d<dir> option.

It seems developers lost interest in PAR2 development around year 2004, as I haven't seen a single new development in the area since. PAR2 files are created by the Parchive file archiving software when a user creates a backup of the information on his or her hard drive. PAR2 files are used for data archive recovery purposes. When a volume in a multi-part archive is lost, the .par2 file can be used to recover the missing data.

Dec 18, 2003 · I downloaded some .PAR2 files and there were some .REV files (I think these are WinRAR recovery files which don't work for me either using either Archive..repair or double clicking on it). I put all the files in a separate directory including a .PAR2 file which is ~ 35 kb. I've associated .PAR in the Windows shell.
