Dec 31, 2008 · HDCP is not on component cables so some content will not play over component in HD. HDMI does require HDCP so that works. In short, all component connections on all TVs should do that. Nothing busted here.

Dec 08, 2017 · No HDCP errors were shown; the TV just said that there was no signal. The LG and the Denon support HDCP 2.2 on all inputs. My other equipment (Sky Q, Fire TV Stick, PS4, Apple TV) works fine through the Denon. Direct connection to the TV works fine, though. It's a communication failure between the box and the TV. It'll be localized to the box/TV only. The black screen is the end result as HDCP is for content protection and part of HDMI. HDCP is a security feature of HD video. There is no fix for it. It is how HDCP was designed.

Jan 04, 2013 · In what way is it not 'compatible'? I had a Humax AND a 'TalkTalk' box connected to my 'old' Panasonic TH37PE30 non-HD Plasma TV via SCART until very recently (new full HD TV now installed) and whilst you won't get 'HD' in the true sense of the word, the HD to SD downscaling worked fine, and the pic quality on HD channels even via SCART was better than the SD channels.

You should use a good quality HDMI switch that has an external PSU. There's not usually enough power on the HDMI ports to power devices like this successfully, and you run the risk of frying the HDMI circuitry in the TV and possibly the connected devices too. Panasonic kit in particular seems very iffy when it comes to HDMI stability.
