If instead core 3 were core C6 then the package could be able to resolve to package state C6. Package C7 flushes the L3 cache and would give IMHO horrible latency, not something to be interested in on a desktop as CPU package power ...

I am using .144v to .444v running windows task manager, cpu-z, firefox, i tunes never breaking the .5v mark My core mulitplier is set to 44 with a max of 1.213v: I had to go into the BIOS (1504) for the FORMULA VI and enable c state 7 (C7s) I am actually pretty excited. Oct 05, 2012 · EIST and C-States are not mutually inclusive. You can turn the one or the other off at any time. Leaving them on won't hurt your overclocking. C-States have no effect on overclocking at all. For EIST you should be using offset mode otherwise there's not much point to it. I will tell you what both will hurt though and that is DPC Latency.

Sep 02, 2014 · Your individual cores are spending over 98% of the time in C6 but for whatever reason, a manufacturer might decide to disable some or all of the deeper package C States. Software on your computer can also interfere with the package C States. Google Chrome used to have a feature / bug that blocked some of the deeper package C States.
