UPDATE: In 2012, Microsoft accused Google of bypassing user privacy settings because of this practice, and they added a "strict P3P validation" setting to IE 10 and 11.When enabled, it rejects cookies that are accompanied by P3P policies that contain undefined tokens. I believe the setting was disabled by default.

Some time ago Microsoft dropped support for P3P in IE11 and Edge on Windows 10 (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt146424(v=vs.85).aspx). Unfortunately P3P remains in use, by default, in IE11 on Windows 7.

Oct 17, 2011 · I have a question about P3P in IE9. I have customers who forward/mask their own domain name to an affiliate link I provide them with. The problem is, their username/personalized information that is displayed from their original affiliate URL is dropped completely when they try to use their new domain name (which mask/forwards to their affiliate URL).

Cookie blocked/not saved in IFRAME in Internet Explorer. I have verified that my P3P policy is in my HTTP header. And it actually works for the first page/step of the shopping cart site, but as soon as there is personal information on the page (like name, address, phone, etc), IE blocks my site and my cookie.

Jul 22, 2016 · The Platform for Privacy Preferences 1.0 (P3P 1.0) is obsolete in Windows 10 (Microsoft Edge and all modes of Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 10). Support for P3P 1.0 has been removed in Windows 10 and will have minimal ongoing servicing for previous versions of Windows. Recommended practice is to avoid deploying P3P privacy policies on your site.
