Oct 29, 2015 · No : if it says “yes” it means that the Trim command in OSX is enabled. It has nothing to do with Trim supported on the SSD or not: OSX can not see that at all. When there is no trim support, it just does not do anything (like on a HDD), if it is supported the SSD controller will use it. Do not use trim.

The guide didn't mention anything about enabling Trim afterwards? I thought I read somewhere that Trim is no longer needed with APFS? Do I need to enable Trim? Thanks

Mar 21, 2011 · My only concern is the lack of TRIM in Mac OSX. Now, their is speculation (and partial proof) that Lion will have TRIM support, but from what I have researched TRIM is also a hardware variable and not just software. Does anyone know if the new MacBook Pro's SSDs offer TRIM support?
