Sep 24, 2015 · The following instructions are for iPhoto '11, not Photos for OS X, but I figured they might be close enough: Using AVCHD video with iPhoto '11 - Apple Support. When I try to follow the above instructions for Photos for OS X, I get a dialog box that says: Nothing to Import. None of these files can be imported into your Photos library.

Oct 27, 2010 · I have iMovie '09 on both my iMac desktop (OS X 10.5.8) and Macbook (OS X 10.6.4). Both of my computers are Intel Core 2 Duo. But I do not have the original camcorder (LOL as it owned by someone else, in another country). I will only have a DVD disc with the bulky AVCHD files on them.

Mar 10, 2011 · AVCHD, like DVD SD content, is multiplexed (i.e., spatially synchronized in an MPEG transport stream and stored as binary files). It is more likely that the Apple DVD Player would be be adapted to handle both AVCHD and DVD content just as today's Blu-Ray players can handle both Blu-Ray (AVCHD) content, as well as, the older MPEG-2 DVD content.
