Sep 10, 2007 · Actually on 7.3.4 there existed the stand by database, this was the first release when this concept first appeared. It cannot be compared at all with data guard, of course, it was setup and maintained manually, but the primary concept of an active and a standby database updated with archivelog files manually ftped from the primary site first appeared.
