This is really big for us as we have some projects which are gradually dying as we move to Oracle Cloud Apps and we don’t want to spend time upgrading them. This is going to save some money!

Apr 04, 2017 · On 11.2.0.4 requesting extended support (and paying an extra on support fees) you can extend the support two more years until 31 December of 2020. The more recent Oracle Database 12cR1 have the release 12.1.0.1 out of support now, and the 12.1.0.2 with support without extra fees until July 31 of 2019 and with extra fees until 31 July of 2021.

With the upcoming on-premise release of Oracle Database 12.2.0.1, Oracle has updated the Critical Patch Update (CPU) security patch end dates for 11.2.0.4 and 12.1.0.2. Currently (as of January 2017), only 11.2.0.4 and 12.1.0.2 are supported for CPUs. The position is now that Oracle 11g EOL date is 2020 (was JUL 2018). This means less pressure to move to Oracle 12c, but we also have reviewed the minor version of Oracle 11g and the position is that if databases do not move to Oracle 12c by mid 2018, they need to move to the highest minor version of 11g which is 11.2.0.4.

Jun 26, 2013 · Oracle 10gR2 (10.2) has been desupported for 3 years, though technically they gave everyone a free year of extended support which brought EOL for most companies to July 2011. Oracle 11gR1 (11.1) was taken off Premier Support in August 2012. Hopefully you’ve moved on to 11.2 by now, it’s great and mostly stable.
