Especially since I assume Google already worked on OpenSearch support, and it could presumably be ported over. My suggestion would be to add an icon in the address bar that denotes a search engine can be added to opera, whenever a Opensearch xml file is located on the website, like rss.

OpenSearch is a great feature, I agree. I implemented it too, though not in 2009, admittedly. ;-) Even if a website doesn't support OpenSearch, you can still optimize your search experience when using Chrome.
