OpenMPI. The current versions of Slurm and Open MPI support task launch using the srun command. It relies upon Slurm managing reservations of communication ports for use by the Open MPI version 1.5. If OpenMPI is configured with --with-pmi either pmi or pmi2, the OMPI jobs can be launched directly using the srun command. This is the preferred mode of operation.

If Slurm and OpenMPI are recent versions, make sure that OpenMPI is compiled with Slurm support (run ompi_info grep slurm to find out) and just run srun bin/ua.B.x inputua.data in your submission script.. Alternatively, mpirun bin/ua.B.x inputua.data should work too. If OpenMPI is compiled without Slurm support the following should work:

Oct 14, 2017 · @pllopis @henkela Count a +1 to the number of people hit by --enable-static that disables OpenMPI's support for slurm (using pmi2). Thanks for the hint, without that it would have been a long fight to debug the issue.
