Mar 12, 2017 · Need GTK support opencv ; problem which imshow() #56. Closed ... The biggest opencv problem of all times: the "gtk 2.x or carbon error" when trying to use cv2.imshow() ... to track adding GTK to conda-forge. Once that is addressed, we can revisit building OpenCV with GTK support. This comment has been minimized. Sign in to view.

Development environment for Windows. Bad news are that Windows doesn’t have standard system locations for libraries as Linux and Mac OS X have. In consequence, to obtain the Gtk and OpenCV libraries, you need to use some non-standard procedure that involves installing a special package manager called pacman and a special development environment called MinGW.
OpenCV is a highly optimized library with focus on real-time applications. Cross-Platform C++, Python and Java interfaces support Linux, MacOS, Windows, iOS, and Android.

I learnt from some place that opencv with gtk-3.x will use protobuf 2.6.1 which caused the above problem, and installing opencv with gtk-2.x will not depend on protobuf. And part of the opencv cmake msg is as follows, cmake use gtk 3.x automaticly.

Dec 13, 2016 · In order to maintain compatibility, conda-forge opencv builds without gtk2 support (see #25). We have a conda-forge based recipe that builds with ffmpeg and gtk2 support on linux. You might want to use it to build your own opencv package, or you could use our prebuilt packages: conda install -c loopbio ffmpeg-feature gtk2-feature opencv

May 10, 2019 · The Recipe comes with OpenCV and GTK libraries. But the GTK libraries are not included while building OpenCV. I tried adding the Cmake Arguments, but GTK gets built only for the demos and the software, not the development libraries. ... The output states that gtk+2.0/3.0 was not found and hence OpenCV was not built with GTK Support. I also did ...

We don't build OpenCV with GTK support; you can build using sources with support for GTK. You need to have libgtk / libgtk2.x installed at a path that could be discovered by build script. Depending on the version of libgtk installed, passing " -DWITH_GTK=1 " / " -DWITH_GTK_2_X=1 " to cmake would ensure that built OpenCV has GTK support, and you'd be able to use " cv.ShowImage() " from the interpreter.

To enable OpenGL support, configure OpenCV using CMake with WITH_OPENGL=ON. Currently OpenGL is supported only with WIN32, GTK and Qt backends on Windows and Linux (MacOS and Android are not supported). For GTK backend gtkglext-1.0 library is required. To use OpenGL functionality you should first create OpenGL context (window or frame buffer).
