May 27, 2015 · OpenCL 1.2 support in NVIDIA drivers. Reply. Follow. I apologize if this is the wrong location to post this, but I did not see a place to discuss OpenCL topics in NVIDIA's devtalk. When will OpenCL 1.2 be supported by NVIDIA drivers? I noticed 1.1 support was released almost two years ago.

I'm just pointing out that since Nvidia is marketing the GeForce cards for games, the only way Nvidia will even glance at OpenCL is if a AAA game uses OpenCL GPU acceleration and performs significantly better on AMD hardware because of AMD's superior OpenCL support. Until that happens, Nvidia will ignore OpenCL and stick with CUDA and PhysX.
