OleDbConnection derives from DbConnection, therefore you can say it "is" a DbConnection (in fact "is" is the C# keyword for checking this). OleDbConnection does not, however, derive from ADODB.Connection so you can't cast it to one, in the same way you can't cast it to, say, SqlConnection.
