Dec 14, 2006 · Since you've resurrected a 5 year old thread, I should note that Oracle now provides a Linux ODBC driver. If your client runs on a Solaris machine, there is no Oracle ODBC driver that could be used to connect to the database. There are companies (i.e. DataDirect) that do produce and sell such drivers, however, and they are generally very good.
