Sep 22, 2019 · OCZ Downloads: Documents, Software, and Drivers Hope this provides something helpful and/or useful.--Ed--PS: I've had a Vertex 4 for years (256 GB). It used to be my system/boot drive, now it's just a fast data drive for my current, ongoing projects. Works like a champ for me, though.

OCZ was able to cut down on the price because they have complete control over the whole manufacturing process now. This is because they bought Indilinx a while back, who was known for their fast, reliable controllers back when SSD's first started to matter. Anyway, the Vertex 4 is solid but it's not worth upgrading to if you already own the ...

Aug 01, 2013 · So here we go... We have a 128gb OCZ Vertex 4 SSD that fails to recognise in bios (using AHCI / IDE SATA mode) - When stripped out the PCB displays a green LED when SATA power is plugged in so it would appear to be getting power - has also been tested with multiple power units.

Oct 21, 2009 · Now I am curious. Does this product have major issues in the Macbook, or do the problems described in the OCZ forum represent a small percentage of Mac users? Oct 02, 2013 · A lot of people have had poor RMA experiences. And from the looks of it, this 1.4 firmware update on the Vertex 4 certainly raises some questions about OCZ. Now, in fairness, I have a Vertex 2 (before the NAND switch) and have never had any problems. Back when I bought that SSD, there really weren't a lot of vendors out there with good drives.

May 26, 2016 · I thought you were talking about a Vertex 460, not an original Vertex 4. They announced they were only supporting those for a limited time as a courtesy when they acquired the OCZ name. The Vertex 4 is from a different company, Toshiba was nice enough to continue to offer up the downloads while they did. You're lucky you got support at all.Memory: F4-3200C14D-16GFX

Oct 12, 2012 · - so far so good. The speeds are not as high as the Vertex 4, esp. the write speed, but it still feels fast, and more importantly, it just feels more stable, consistent, and predictable, even at a 4.4 GHz overclock. The OCZ drive never felt the same twice running and you couldn't ever predict how fast it was going to work.
